Three evenings a week the Conservative Action Team is out in the Constituency knocking on doors asking residents what issues matter to them. Last night we were out in and around the Fleetcroft Road area. The response we received form residents is overwhelmingly positive. All issues and concerns raised will be dealt with by prospective Upton Councillor Geoff Gubb and Cllr Tom Anderson. If you would like to join your local Action Team please call us on 608 1899.

Norwich North

Chloe Smith is the new MP for Norwich North and at 27 years old is the youngest MP in the House of Commons and the youngest ever woman Conservative MP. A team from Wirral went across to help Chloe and we are very pleased with the amazing result. Chloe won with a 7,348 majority achieving a 16.49% swing from Labour, a huge achievement and a sign to Gordon Brown that the country wants change. BRING ON THE GENERAL ELECTION!

Flooding Arrowe Park Road

July 17, 2009 · Leave a Comment

flood arrowe park Road With the heavy rain last night parts of Arrowe Park Road were flooded and sadly some homes were flooded as well. I have been in touch with Technical Services who are in the process of contacting residents affected and investigating the drainage system. It is United Utilities who is responsible for the sub standard drainage system and not Wirral Council. There is a cross party flooding committee who are trying to get United Utilities to take action.

Update:  The drainage system in Arrowe Park Road has had a blockage removed. I have also heard from a resident who tells me that their insurance company is pursuing a claim again United Utilities for damages caused to flooded homes.

Geoff Upton Village 1

Pictured: Geoff Gubb, Council Candidate for Upton, in Upton Village

This morning Geoff Gubb, Upton Council Candidate,  and I met with traders of Upton Village and Council officers to discuss the lack of parking facilities in Upton Village. The meeting was positive with a few solutions being discussed. Traders in Upton Village are suffering not just from the economic downturn but from the severely lacking parking facilities around the area. The Conservative Action Team is working with traders and the council to find an equitable solution.
